I'm glad you've decided to join the class. It's very interactive and very personal. Most of the work you'll create will include your own blog site. So please be prepared to create one as soon as we start the class. I'd like to get to know you and help you determine what your portfolio presence becomes. It's an important part of your professional and maybe your personal life.
Create something that reflects who you are, what you like to do and how you want your audience to judge your talent. Always think of it as "BRAND YOU". Capturing the essence of your work is important for others to form that impressionable impression of you. Are you high tech or low tech? Are you a Photoshop or Illustrator artist? Do you prefer working as an individual designer or as a member of a team? Who/What inspires your work? Get in your head and get it out on electronic paper.
The course is a fifteen week course. The first six weeks are dedicated to learning about what it takes to create and maintain a portfolio. Our portfolios are strictly electronic, however, there is some work you'll need to complete on paper as you prepare the electronic version. I expect that everyone has work to display at the beginning of this class. If you don't you must email me ASAP.
There's no textbook but lots of online reading and other articles that I'll post in the online courseroom. So, are you ready to get busy? Send me a comment now!
